The technical architecture of cubes® is simple and effective. It's built on a single centralized data model, with an open architecture and single web user interface for all its functions

Cubes® CPM system is composed of the following components

 

A- Scorecards

Cubes® Scorecard component is used to generate scorecards and KPI metrics that link objectives at multiple perspectives with each other (cause and effect relation) along with their relevant KPI’s and assigned initiatives, thus, facilitating the implementation of different strategic tools such as the Balanced Scorecard or six sigma or activity based management.

B- Dashboards

Cubes® dashboard component is used to generate dashboard templates that are designed to deliver maximum visual impact in a format optimized for quick absorption, using a combination of tables, charts, gauges, dials, maps and other graphical indicators, as well as collaboration zones for comments, alerts and messages.

C- Reports

Cubes® Reports component allows the user to generate static reports based on performance data. It provides a platform for customizing reports based on user requirements, utilizing Dundas® components for reporting and Microsoft SQL server reporting services capabilities.

D- Business / Process Activity Monitoring

Cubes® Business / Process Activity Monitoring system allows process owners to view performance measures from process perspective, unlike traditional way of viewing performance against strategic / departmental objectives.

This allows the process owner’s to view the process based KPI’s beside the maps of documented processes with process mining ability that extends to the business transaction level.

E- Collaboration engine

Cubes® allows users to collaborate together by sharing performance data, decision and comments through its internal messaging and alerts engine. This kind of collaboration that takes place through the different stages of corporate performance management process within an organization is required to support the organization’s continuous improvement cycle.

Cubes® support the continuous improvement process within the company by supply the following 3 basic business intelligence facilities

  • Monitor Track business metrics to inform and alert users to on going business activity and the decisions that may be required based on this activity.
  • Report Deliver detailed data on current and historical operational performance so users can view business performance across the enterprise.
  • Analyze Present views of the business from many difference angles so that decision makers can uncover the cause of performance problems, reveal potential opportunities or predict business results.
 
 

Cubes® provide built-in workflows that govern the performance data feeding and approval process, with reminders that are sent to KPI owners and warnings on missing data.

 
 

F- Performance Data Warehouse

Performance analysis requires performance-relevant data from various operational IT systems such as workflow systems or ERP systems. Through the combination of multiple data sources in a single warehouse, Cubes® provides multidimensional assessment of performance using Microsoft SQL Server Analysis services. The performance data warehouse component offers enhanced analysis features such as the execution of ad-hoc analyses along different dimensions (e.g. time dimension, process dimension, business unit dimension) and aggregation levels. Those multidimensional analysis capabilities, which are not restricted to time-based figures, may offer new insights to the process owners and other associated roles.

G- Integration engine

Cubes® CPM can be integrated with any application database such as Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase or DB2. The system allows also for manual feeding of performance data through auto-generated data entry screens, as well as, the importing of performance data from excel spread sheets. The integration with other data sources is done through the ETL process “Extract – Load – Transform” supported by the Microsoft Integration Service.
